When the World Sleeps
"Nocturnes" is an immersive performance experience that explores historical bi-phasic sleep patterns and the poetic aspects of wakefulness, collaborating with a spatial environment designer. Featuring captivating narratives, live-streamed sounds, and audio-reactive lighting in a dreamy environment, the event is designed for insomniacs seeking a new way to experience the night. Participants share their unique experiences of being awake at night, while 24-hour live streams from various environments (natural, urban, and micro) provide a captivating concerto-like soundscape. The aim of "Nocturnes" is to create transformative moments, as highlighted by Henri Lefebvre (1989), by disrupting the bodily routine and transforming the everyday into something extraordinary.
'NOCTURNES' delivered the concept as a live performance at IKLECTIK art Lab, combining body movements, music improvisation, and audio-reactive visual projections, to engage the audience in five real stories of astonishing nocturnal experiences.
