This photography book, rooted in personal narratives, delves into the multifaceted social adversities confronting the queer community. As a queer individual from a traditional Catholic Chinese family, my work grapples with the nuanced interplay between familial religious beliefs and my own queer identity, especially in the context of experiencing unaddressed violence in intimate relationships.

NARRATIVE CONSTRUCTION
The textual aspect of the book is twofold: one part encompasses my introspective dialogues with God, akin to prose poetry. At the same time, the other comprises biblical passages that resonate and provide enlightenment in relation to my emotional state. These excerpts, set against solid-colored backgrounds transitioning from darkness to light, symbolize my journey from confusion to self-awareness and reconciliation.
The photographic elements originate from two distinct sources: the ruins of residential buildings and religious details from my 20-year-old home. This complexity shows where home is both a sanctuary and the source of identity construction, yet paradoxically, also a site of intimate relationship violence.

This work delves into unraveling and reforming personal identity. It navigates the intricate process of dissecting and piecing together various aspects of my essence, aiming for a detached perspective amid the complexities of individual identity. The journey, depicted through both imagery and words, evolves toward a collective persona that transcends personal boundaries.
